![]() LittleSnitch is definitely prettier, with its additional Network Monitor maps. (Ironically, the user needs to OK the outgoing connection to the server.) LittleSnitch accesses its own database as well as info provided by application developers that is included in the application’s resources. Lulu provides Virus Total and Ancestry options for assistance in determining legitimacy. The thing I missed most in LuLu when I tried it was the Research Assistant in Little Snitch which tells you if something is legit. I think that the Permissive Mode is a better option but like I think I mentioned earlier, in my experience Lulu isn't nearly as intrusive so I don't really need it. ) There is only "Passive Mode" and since it allows all new connections to go through, I never use it. There isn't a comparable Permissive Mode in Lulu. That may or may not be a problem depending on the affected apps and how you are using them. But connection attempts are stalled until the user deals with the individual connections. This is a nice feature when you are busy. When using LittleSnitch in "Minimized Connection Alert" mode it reduces the interactions to 1 or 2 steps (to enable "keep all future connection alerts minimized") and then alerts stop until you elect to address them. They also both have block everything modes where frequent approval is required. Both LuLu and Little Snitch have permissive modes where connections are allowed and reported for review later, therefore no continual interruptions to approve.
